We walk by faith, not by sight. This is for those of you who know you need to clean up your marriage; you need to clean up your act; you need to stop doing what you’re doing. You know you need to start going to church. You know you need to discipline yourself in some areas. You need to step out and do that thing that God is asking you to do. We WALK BY FAITH, not by sight!!! One of the ways that Satan can lie to us and tempt us with is that the wiser thing is to walk by sight, not by faith. If Satan can get you to walk by sight and not by faith, you are going to miss so many things that God has set aside for you!!! That is the great bait of the enemy: walking by what we see, and not by what we HEAR. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing the Word of the Lord. God’s ways are so much higher than ours; His ways are so much more different than ours; He works supernaturally, not by what we see.

Numbers 14:9

Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.

When the spies went into the land, could they see with their eyes that God had removed the protection from the giants of the land so the Israelites could go and assume it? No, they could not see that with their eyes!! They had to believe by faith that God was going to do something supernatural in order for them to go take the land. They could not see the protection had been removed, and yet it was.

This is the great bait of evil. God tells you to go do something and you don’t see with your eyes that “the protection has been removed,” that the opportunity is truly there. All you see are GIANTS and BATTLES. All you see is the fact that you might be completely destroyed. What you need to believe is that “the protection has been removed. The Lord is with us; don’t fear.” Moving forward in faith if God says, “Go,” you have to believe that the same God who was operating on behalf of these 12 spies and was willing to remove the protection from the giants that could have massacred them is at work for you!!!!

Numbers 14:10-12

10 Then all the congregation said to stone them with stones. But the glory of the Lord appeared at the tent of meeting to all the people of Israel.

11 And the Lord said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? And how long will they not believe in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them? 12 I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

They decided after God got mad to go and do what He said. The problem was that the moment had passed; there were now CONSEQUENCES. There were consequences for not believing God would do what He promised He would do; there were consequences for them walking by sight, and not by faith. There are consequences when we choose to walk by what we see and not believe that whatever God is calling us to, He is going to PROVIDE and SUSTAIN.

Numbers 14:40-45

40 And they rose early in the morning and went up to the heights of the hill country, saying, “Here we are. We will go up to the place that the Lord has promised, for we have sinned.” 41 But Moses said, “Why now are you transgressing the command of the Lord, when that will not succeed? 42 Do not go up, for the Lord is not among you, lest you be struck down before your enemies. 43 For there the Amalekites and the Canaanites are facing you, and you shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned back from following the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” 44 But they presumed to go up to the heights of the hill country, although neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed out of the camp.45 Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and defeated them and pursued them, even to Hormah.

I want to be super sensitive and clear about this. When God asks you to do something, you must walk by what you cannot see, because He doesn’t work the way we work. The Israelites did not see that the protection was taken away, but they had a CHANGE OF HEART. It was almost as if they were so swayed in the other direction that they were like, “Ok, now that the Lord has told us that we’re not going to take the land for 40 years, I didn’t realize there was that consequence attached to disobeying.” When they disobeyed, they didn’t realize the harsh consequence that would come down on them for walking by sight, and not by faith. So they went up and tried overcome the giants and take the land, but the protection had been put back on the giants for 40 years.

I don’t know what you’re facing today, I just know that I want those of you who are walking by sight and are so proud in your practicality to know that God is never going to be so practical that you can predict all of His moves. We must walk by what we can’t see, FAITH, rather than what we can see.

I challenge you to think about how His ways are not our ways, they are so much higher!!!!! He wants to give you the fruit of the promised land, but you have to walk understanding that He WILL pave the way for you to get it!!!!!

Love you!!

Have you gotten yourself in some trouble? Did you make a bad decision? Did you get on the wrong path? Are you finding yourself in a relationship that has totally gone wrong? Did you start a sinful life pattern? Did you sin in a great way? Did you do something stupid? This is for you!!

God is so GRACIOUS and so FORGIVING, and I’m so thankful for that in my own life. Sometimes, we can make a turn and we do not count the costs and consequences; we don’t count what could happen if we make this decision. If we do this, what’s going to happen?

There are three kings in this passage of Scripture: the king of Israel, the king of Judah, and the king of Edom. They are going to fight Moab. They gather all their armies together to fight Moab. They march for seven days, and they RUN OUT OF WATER!!! You would think three kings would be wise enough to realize that you have to bring enough water on a trip for everyone for seven days. They ran out of water! You cannot live without water!!! What they did was stupid. They were in a big pickle.

2 Kings 3:14-20

14 Elisha said, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look at you nor see you. 15 But now bring me a minstrel.” And it came about, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him. 16 He said, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Make this valley full of trenches.’ 17 For thus says the Lord, ‘You shall not see wind nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink, both you and your cattle and your beasts. 18 This is but a slight thing in the sight of the Lord; He will also give the Moabites into your hand. 19 Then you shall strike every fortified city and every choice city, and fell every good tree and stop all springs of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.’” 20 It happened in the morning about the time of offering the sacrifice, that behold, water came by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.

“This is but a SLIGHT THING in the sight of the Lord.” Did they get themselves in trouble? Yes, they did. But, Jehoshaphat was smart enough to say, “We’ve gotten ourselves into trouble; we’ve done something stupid. We’ve run out of water. We don’t know where to get water. We need to inquire of the Lord.” They go and find Elisha and dig trenches with EXPECTATION that God is going to MIRACULOUSLY fill these trenches with water, and they will have water to drink. He caps off his request to them, his challenge to them, and says, “This is but a slight thing in the sight of the Lord.” The Lord saved them!!!!

Have you gotten yourself into trouble? It is time to stop wallowing in guilt, depression, and frustration. You know you did it. You “left without water.” You feel like you can’t go on. You die without water; they felt like they couldn’t go on, because they went seven days without water. You feel like you are at the point of DESPERATION. It is time to STOP WALLOWING!!! Turn to the Lord! SEEK HIM. Admit, “Hey, I did something stupid.” REPENT; ask for forgiveness. Ask for the Lord to help you. Jehoshaphat helped them, gave them clear direction: they had to work; they had to dig a trench, then God was going to come in and do what He did. God is going to ask you to do some work on yourself to help you get out of that situation. When you do that work, He will couple it with STRENGTH and He will bring you out just like He did in this passage.

Remember this: “It is but a slight thing in the sight of the Lord.” It feels like it is a big thing to you today. It feels like your life is pressing in on you. It feels like you can’t move forward. It feels like you can’t go on another day. It feels like you can’t even see God, and it feels like He might not even want to talk to you. But what you are facing, and the mess you have gotten yourself in is but a SLIGHT THING IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD. Praise the Lord!!!! He knows how to get you out. Stop trying to do it on your own. Humble yourself. SEEK THE LORD like Jehoshaphat did. He will make a way out for you.

I messed my life up so badly, but He has ALWAYS been GRACIOUS. He has always been GOOD. He always sets my feet right back. I did something really bad about twenty years ago, but when I sought him, asked for forgiveness, and did the work, He led me straight out.

I love you so much. I hope this encourages you today.

When you Feel like Your Enemies are Gaining on You

Do you feel that your enemies are gaining on you, or that they have favor? Do you feel like the Lords provision in your life is also being given to your enemy?

“13But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. 14 The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! 16 Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground. 17 And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they will charge in after the Israelites. My great glory will be displayed through Pharaoh and his troops, his chariots, and his charioteers. 18 When my glory is displayed through them, all Egypt will see my glory and know that I am the Lord!”

19 Then the angel of God, who had been leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp. The pillar of cloud also moved from the front and stood behind them. 20 The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. As darkness fell, the cloud turned to fire, lighting up the night. But the Egyptians and Israelites did not approach each other all night.

21 Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land. 22 So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!

23 Then the Egyptians—all of Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and charioteers—chased them into the middle of the sea. 24 But just before dawn the Lord looked down on the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and cloud, and he threw their forces into total confusion. 25 He twisted[b] their chariot wheels, making their chariots difficult to drive. “Let’s get out of here—away from these Israelites!” the Egyptians shouted. “The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt!”

26 When all the Israelites had reached the other side, the Lord said to Moses, “Raise your hand over the sea again. Then the waters will rush back and cover the Egyptians and their chariots and charioteers.” 27 So as the sun began to rise, Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the water rushed back into its usual place. The Egyptians tried to escape, but the Lord swept them into the sea. 28 Then the waters returned and covered all the chariots and charioteers—the entire army of Pharaoh. Of all the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived.

29 But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, as the water stood up like a wall on both sides. 30 That is how the Lord rescued Israel from the hand of the Egyptians that day. And the Israelites saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed up on the seashore. 31 When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses. “

// Exodus 14:13-31

13But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. 14 The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

God is not going to give your enemies the same favor He will give you. He WILL fight for you!! God is telling Moses that HE will take care of the Egyptians. God is going to fight for them. Gods protection has now come behind them. The enemy does not see this. The enemy does not see the provision and protection. They cannot even sense what God is doing for you!

Whatever enemy you are facing today, they will attempt to be successful, BUT, with Gods favor, you will be victorious! God is going to take care of it. The provision God is giving you is not the same provision God gives your enemies. God will protect you.

God WILL take care of YOU and IT!

“That is how the Lord rescued Israel from the hand of the Egyptians that day.”

Blessings of obedience

In today’s world, most of all look for success. We want that. We want to succeed, we want to be blesses, right? The main thing we need to realize about success and being blessed, if that this world has nothing to offer apart from the power of God. Nothing.

I want God to look at my life, and bless me!

 Deuteronomy 28: 1-2 tells us,

If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God”

 If. You. Obey.

This tells us that blessings will happen to you, if you obey!

The Lord will COMMAND the blessing to you! We must only obey. God is the only one who sets the rules for blessings. Not us! IF you want to live a blessed life, even when obedience is hard, it is the rule for us to be blessed. Jesus points out to us in John 13:17 that blessings come from obeying the truth, not just knowing it. “Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them”

Know the truth, obey it, and be blessed!

It is important to realize that when we obey God, we will never be disappointed. Obedience always leads to blessings, always. The Lord desires to bless us!

Set a goal to obey the Lord and watch Him unlock blessings in our lives!
