This is so true! Such a wonderful reminder. That must have been so scary for you to deal with, I can't even imagine how I would react in such a situation, but I would definitely take comfort in the fact that God is ALWAYS there and that He is ALWAYS in control.

As comforting as it is that He is with us in the hard or scary times, I also take comfort in the fact that He is with us DAILY. That's part of what I'm learning right now, that even before we realize our need for something, God is already orchestrating things according to His will for us.

Anyways, I love this and I can't wait to read more!

When we hold on to our idols we choose to put that other thing inbetween us and God. We allow that Idol to command our life and have authority in place of God's authority. We choose what has the most importance in our lives, be it God or be it money, fame, beauty, our spouse, our time, our image...I love the verse in Jonah 2:8-9
