This is for all of my control-freaks, analyzers, and people that have to know every move that God is going to make in your life. You’re trying to figure it out; you’re praying and you’re asking for God to tell you this and that. Well, guess what: you are not going to be able to figure Him out!!! He’s smarter than you are!!!

This passage of Scripture is kind of like a warm hug. Judges 6 talks about Gideon. He was a man that God used to elevate to overwhelm the Midianites who were against the nation of Israel. The Israelites were terrified of the Midianites. Like God always does, He elevated someone to work through and to champion for the nation of Israel.

Judges 6:15-16

15 And he said to him, “Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” 16 And the Lord said to him, “But I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.”

Gideon then goes and rounds up 32,000 people. However, God doesn’t like that number, because the nation of Israel wouldn’t give God the full glory if they use that many soldiers. He whittled down the amount of warriors to 300. He then takes these 300 men and divides them into 3 sections. They go up to fight and approximately 135,000 Midianites.

Judges 7:19-23

19 So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, when they had just set the watch. And they blew the trumpets and smashed the jars that were in their hands. 20 Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the jars. They held in their left hands the torches, and in their right hands the trumpets to blow. And they cried out, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!”21 Every man stood in his place around the camp, and all the army ran. They cried out and fled. 22 When they blew the 300 trumpets, the Lord set every man’s sword against his comrade and against all the army. And the army fled as far as Beth-shittah toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath. 23 And the men of Israel were called out from Naphtali and from Asher and from all Manasseh, and they pursued after Midian.

When God tells you to do something, you can analyze, think, pray on it, and try to figure it out all you want, but I guarantee you that Gideon did not think he would be able to defeat all 135,000 Midianites with a trumpet and a torch!!!! God didn’t ask him to figure it out, He simply asked him TO BE WILLING TO GO! God will reveal Himself to you whenever He wants to reveal Himself to you. He will give you EXACTLY what He wants. Your job is to simply DO EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTS YOU TO DO!!! It’s not to figure out how, because God has already figured it out. This is where you TRUST. Drop how you think it should be done and make a decision to trust that if God asked you to do it, HE HAS A WAY FOR YOU TO DO IT!! His way is always better than your way. Sometimes we waste so much time trying to figure out, “Lord, you told me to do this. How’s it going to get done? How am I going to get there? What do I need to do? Who do I need to talk to?” God is saying to you, “I’ve already figured it out.” God might not want you to be able to figure it out. He might be calling you to just TRUST IN HIM. He’s never called you to do something that He didn’t provide for. Just trust Him.

I love you guys so much and hope this encourages you today!
